My Top 10 of the Decade

A new decade starts in a few days! So, I've decided to countdown my highlights of the last 10 years, 2000-2009

My Top 10
2000
I was accepted to GC&SU for college and began my career as a collegiate golfer - Our team won a tournament that fall, and I made the winning putt!

2001
Wrote my first song "Evidence of Where We've Been" and recorded my first 3 song EP - also, first plane trip ever, to Colorado for a Young Life Ski Trip, I was 20 yrs old

2002
In April, my first nephew, Reid, was born in Ohio - and I spent that same night in the hospital with a kidney stone

2003
Junior in college, and I spent the summer in NY as a summer intern at Young Life camp in upstate NY and learned a ton. Flew into NYC, took a bus upstate, and served one of the greatest summers of my life!

2004
Graduated from college in May, released my first full length album called "With Both Feet" in October. I recorded, arranged, wrote, designed, and marketed the entire project. This is the accomplishment I'm most proud of to date.

2005
Moved to Athens, GA - continued pursuing music. Met many friends who are still my best friends to this day. My second nephew, Will, was born in February

2006
Played over 100 concerts in churches, youth groups, and coffee houses. Also was the worship & youth leader at a small church outside of Athens. Most memorable gig that year was a college ski trip to Park City, Utah. Played music at night, hit the slopes during the day.

2007
Was introduced to Boosterthon Fun Run by my friend Matt, and decided to get a 'real job' to help pay the bills while playing music. Started with Booster in August, still with them today!

2008
Traveled to some fun places...spent Memorial Day weekend in Charleston with my best friend Blaise, spent a weekend in the Bahamas with work buddies, and spent New Years in NYC with my family!

2009
Promoted to Team Leader with Booster, 8 month relationship with Lydia, and started as a worship leader at a great new church in August

It's hot in Georgia...

I can't believe how hot it is right now! It's almost unbearable outside, and it's so humid. I've been in the process of moving houses in the last week or so and it's been so hard in the heat. I'm almost settled into my new home, so I'm excited. Then, I played golf Friday with Evan and Drew, and we thought we were gonna pass out from the heat! We had a blast though...laughing, yelling, hitting good shots and bad shots, and goofing off on the golf course. Always fun!

This weekend was packed full of traveling and music for me. I was in Augusta, where my parents live, on Friday and Saturday for a wedding. One of my dear friends from high school was married on Saturday and I played in her wedding. She wanted me to perform all of the music, and it was challenge. I played various hymns and worship songs for 30 mins before the wedding, and then sang a few special songs during the ceremony. Saturday night the band and I traveled to Athens for our Sunday morning gig at Athens Church. We celebrated Evan's birthday too! Sunday morning was a great time of worship at Inside Out/Extreme, the student environment at Athens Church. We played several new songs for us, and we loved them. We'll probably be playing them again in the future. After a short break of pizza and birthday cake, and a little tv, we hit the road for our Sunday night concert. We led worship at First Baptist Church in Conyers, GA. It was awesome. The service was packed, and the people really wrapped their hearts around the songs and embraced us like their own! Our good friend Paul just accepted a new position on their staff, and invited us to play for the entire church. After the service, we had dinner with some of our good friends, and then it was back home for another week!
