Journal 17 -- Amazing Love

It's been a little while since I have updated this journal...and I'm not proud that I haven't written since February. I really have had good intentions and I have so much to say...but when I think about it I just put it off. On one hand, I know I need to write, but on the other, I think about how long it's been, and I don't know what I want to say...so I keep procrastinating.

Do you ever feel that way about some of your relationships? Maybe you haven't kept in touch with someone for a while. You have good intentions, and you think about them and care about them, but life gets in the way and you may not call them for months. Then, when you go to pick up the phone, you just decide that it's been so long and you don't know what you'll say, so you just put it off for another day.

If I'm honest, sometimes I get like that with my relationship with God. I'll get lazy and comfortable, and I may not call on Him often. Then, my heart feels distant and I know I need to connect with my father, but for some reason or another I'll hesitate. When I finally make the connection between my heart and my head and I realize I haven't spent time with Him, I talk myself out of it because I don't feel worthy. I feel like God doesn't want to talk to me now because it's been too long.
In fact, that couldn't be farther from the truth. That is exactly what He wants me to do...Call Him. After all, He calls me His beloved, and He wants to be in constant conversation with me.

Sometimes I have this crazy concept of God that He loves me more when I'm closest to Him and call on Him often. The Bible says that He loves me the same no matter how I feel or treat Him. His love is unconditional...He loves me the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. It's hard to understand God's amazing love...I want to wrap my arms around this concept.

GOD LOVES ME NO MATTER WHAT I'VE DONE OR HOW I ACT. HE WANTS ME TO SPEND TIME WITH HIM SO HE CAN TELL ME HOW MUCH HE LOVES ME! I AM HIS BELOVED!

That is amazing Love.
