Fort Walton Beach 08

I just returned home from a great week on the road with my band! We play together all the time, but it's not often that we get to go to the beach and lead worship for 4 days together! It was awesome. We were in Fort Walton Beach, Florida on a trip with Hebron Church in Atlanta. We led worship for the college students at Hebron, and it was awesome! We packed the trailer Wednesday night, and headed on the road in two cars. Evan supplied the cb radios for us, so we could keep in touch on the highway. Needless to say, the trip wouldn't have been the same without them! 10-4.
Our plan was to drive to Montgomery, AL Wednesday and spend the night, and continue the next morning to Fort Walton Beach. As we arrived at our hotel in Montgomery late Wednesday night, we noticed a Taco Bell in the parking lot of the hotel. Evan and Drew came on the radio and simply said "God loves Us, over" We all started laughing, and spent a late night at the hotel with Taco Bell!
Thursday morning we hit the road again for the beach and arrived around lunch. We unloaded and relaxed by the amazing pool for the afternoon. That evening we had our first session and introduced some new songs. We played
Highest and Greatest by Tim Hughes, Let Me Sing and You Are by Todd Fields, and we also taught them I am Free by the Newsboys. Friday and Saturday, we played two sessions a day, one in the morning and one at night. We rocked the conference room with God's praises, and the students really connected with the songs and poured their hearts out to God. It is so rewarding to lead worship for students who really desire to connect with God on an intimate level! All in all it was a great week of worship, teaching, and fun with the band and our new friends! I can't thank God enough for allowing us to continue to travel, play music, and lead his people in worship each week. It is so much fun!

There were many funny moments and quotes of the week, as there often are when we all get together. Evan decided to buy a "boat" for the pool...well, it's really a float, but we called it a boat. At one point, we all tried to get on the "boat", and it wasn't so much a success. Keller, David's wife, captured it all on video -- so enjoy!

I didn't see that video the other night when everyone else did. That is tooooo funny!! What is even better is hearing Keller laughing in the background and then watching Evan try to keep you from drowning!! But it stinks that you didn't get to play with it the next day cause you left it out on "Evan's front porch" and someone took it!! It was a great trip. I'm ready for another one or another time to hang out with you guys. Miss yall.
