Well, I am finally at home again after being gone for about a week or so. I have spent much of the last week in Athens, GA with my family. As you know from my last journal, my sister had a new little baby boy and his name is Will Baker. I said that I would write again to update you on his condition...Well, like I said before, Will had some complications at birth and was immediately placed in the ICU. His condition slowly improved and he was taken out of the ICU on Monday. He has fully recovered now, and is at home with his mom and dad! We are so thankful that the Lord healed him, and that he is safe at home in his parents care! His big brother Reid is also very excited to have a new baby brother! Thank you so much for all of your prayers and phone calls, they meant so much to me and my family...
...I also had the privilege of spending the weekend at SharpTop Cove, a Young Life camp in N. Georgia. I was the musical guest for the weekend, and I met so many new friends from Columbus, Griffin, and Athens, GA. As you may know, I've been involved with Young Life since I was in high school, so it was great to be at camp again sharing my heart and songs with the students. One family that I had the privilege of meeting this weekend encouraged me and supported me so much. Chris and Lisa Norman, and their children, were at camp making sure the weekend went smoothly and that all of the leaders had everything they needed. You may recognize their last name (Chris's younger brother, Bebo Norman, is also a singer/songwriter and his music has been very influential of mine!) They have a young son named Eli, and he loves music and musicians. Knowing that Eli would love talking about his uncle Bebo, I called him over and said "Eli, your uncle plays music too, doesn't he?" With a huge smile on his face, he looked up at me and said "Yes, but he plays in other countries too!" Well, what can I say to that? So, I just smiled and continued talking with him about his uncle and music.
I love what I do. I love traveling and singing, and I love being able to meet people everywhere I go. God has blessed me so much with the opportunity to play music full time and minister to his children through these songs. Thanks again for all your prayers and concerns for my family in the last week or so. I will write again soon!
